Abstrak

Artikel ini melaporkan kajian ke atas tingkah laku minda semasa membaca Al-Quran dengan menggunakan alat Quantitative Electroencephalograph (qEEG). QEEG adalah penilaian elektrofisiologi non invasif yang menggunakan analisis berkomputer matematik untuk menukar data bentuk gelombang mentah ke dalam julat frekuensi yang berbeza termasuk delta, theta, alpha dan beta. Analisis kompleks menyediakan analisis seperti simetri, fasa, koheren, amplitud, kuasa dan dominan mereka julat frekuensi. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur dan mengenalpasti isyarat EEG semasa aktiviti membaca, mendengar Al-Quran dan membuka mata.   
 
Dalam kajian ini surah Al-Mulk menjadi pilihan penyelidik untuk melihat keberkesanannya ke atas pengaktifan otak semasa mendengar surah tersebut berbanding dengan pembacaan sendiri ayat-ayat tersebut.   Data mentah dari kedua-dua keadaan dianalisis untuk menentukan apa-apa perubahan gelombang otak dari kumpulan yang berbeza. Semasa membaca Al-Quran amplitud tertinggi pengagihan kuasa spektrum diperhatikan di Delta di kawasan Frontal (F1, F2, F4, F7 dan F8), Occipital (O1,O2)  dan Parietal. Sebaliknya, dengan mendengar Al-Quran menunjukkan amplitud delta tertinggi di kawasan Prefrontal F3, Fz, F4 dan F8, dan temporal. 
 
Walaupun dalam kedua-dua keadaan membaca dan mendengar surah Al-Quran sudah pasti mendatangkan pengaktifan otak yang berbeza, namun Kita dapati membaca Al-Quran sendiri telah meningkatkan amplitud yang tertinggi pengagihan spektrum berbanding dengan mendengar ayat ran sahaja. Namun dalam kedua-dua keadaan telah menghasilkan gelombang delta yang memerangsangkan pengeluaran hormon pertumbuhan yang baik untuk pembaikian sel atau tisu dan penyembuhan diri.

Abstract

This article reports a study on the behaviour of the mind when one is reading the Quran by using the Quantitative Electroencephalograph (qEEG). The qEEG is a non-invasive electrophysiological evaluation using computerized mathematical analysis to convert the raw waveform data into different frequency ranges that include delta, theta, alpha and beta. Analysis provides complex symmetry, phase, coherence, amplitude, power and their dominant frequency range.
 
This study aims to measure and identify qEEG signal during reading activities, listening to the Quran with eyes opened. In this study, Al-Mulk verses were chosen to study the effectiveness of the brain activation during listening to the Quran compared with its own reading of these verses. The raw data from these two conditions were analyzed to determine any changes in the brain waves of different groups. While reading the Quran, highest amplitude spectral power distributions were observed in delta wave in frontal area (F1, F2, F4, F7 and F8), occipital (O1, O2) and parietal. Conversely, by listening to the Quran, there shows the highest amplitude delta in prefrontal areas F3, Fz, F4 and F8, and temporal.
 
Although in both cases, reading and listening to Quran certainly bring different brain activation, it was found that reading the Quran itself has increased the amplitude of the highest spectral distribution compared to only listening to the Quranic verses. However, both activities have resulted in the production of delta wave which further resulted in the stimulation of growth hormone which is good for cell or tissue repair and healing.
